I'm pretty clueless when it comes to design, but I've been paying quite a bit each month for real-time data widgets for my gambling-based website. I realize using an API is way cheaper. I've watched several tutorials on how to connect my WordPress site to an API feed, and it seems straightforward. However, I'm struggling with how to make the data look appealing on my site. I'm not sure where to start learning about this or the right terms to use when looking to hire someone to help me. It seems like I'd need to design the containers for the data using CSS. If I see a design I like on another website, can I use the inspect feature to copy and tweak their code to match my brand? Also, I'm a bit lost when it comes to knowing if any quotes I receive for this work are reasonable. Any advice would be awesome!

I wouldn’t recommend just copying and pasting code from other sites since code can be copyrighted. It can also be tricky if you don’t know what you're doing. It sounds like you need a web designer to create custom widgets for you. Prices can vary quite a bit based on the designer's skill level. You could find someone affordable on platforms like Fiverr, or go for a local design agency. It's worth shopping around!
Have you thought about using AI for help? Creating some basic CSS to improve the appearance of your data can be a good start. It's a straightforward task, and making something simple is totally fine!

I had no idea coding was copyrighted! I thought I just needed to design the containers and then use some script to display the data. So, it looks like I definitely need a web designer to help with the API integration?
