I'm looking for effective ways to limit my phone usage since I've found it increasingly distracting. Ideally, I want to block access to all apps except for Calls, SMS texts, my Halifax banking app, Camera, Video, Spotify, Calendar, and Notes. I'm hoping to set it up so I can't just change it back and go back to using everything all day. A restricted window for usage during certain times, like mornings and evenings, would be fine. In the past, I've struggled with reducing my phone use, and it usually leads me back to full access. Any solid recommendations?

If you want a more locked-down approach, use the Screen Time features on iPhones or Google Family Link on Android. You can set downtimes and allow specific apps, and you can even let a trusted friend control the settings so you can’t easily change them back. It’s one of the most effective methods!
A straightforward solution is to only install the apps you really need! It simplifies things and reduces distractions significantly.
It's good that you're aware of your usage! But honestly, there's no app that you can’t bypass. It’s more about self-discipline. Maybe when you find yourself scrolling on your phone, just hit the lock button and remind yourself to take a break. What apps do you think you use the most?
If you want something more hands-on, try setting up parental controls with someone you trust. They can manage what apps you have access to. It keeps you accountable and helps limit your distractions.
You might want to look into an app called Digipaws; it could be beneficial for managing your usage effectively.
