How Can I Lower the Speed of My Noisy Case Fans?

I recently replaced a broken case fan with two Arctic P12 Max fans, and they are significantly louder than the ones I had before. I tried using FanControl, but it wasn't working well for me due to some issues with Windows Defender. I also attempted to adjust the speed in my BIOS, but the lowest setting I can achieve is 40%, which keeps the fans running at around 1900-2000 RPM. Is there a way to lower the fan speed more effectively? The noise is really bothering me!

The Arctic P12 fans can actually run between 400 – 3300 RPM, so at 40%, you should be closer to 1550 RPM. It's strange that you can't reduce it further. Are you sure you're looking at the right settings in your BIOS?

Did you check if your BIOS has a silent mode option? If not, you might need to adjust the fan curve more aggressively. Also, you mentioned 50% instead of 40%, so make sure you’re checking that figure. It's odd for your fans to run so high at those settings, especially if they’re not high-performance models like Noctua industrial fans.

Are your fans 4-pin or 3-pin? Make sure your BIOS is set to the correct mode—PWM or DC. If your fans are 4-pin but your BIOS doesn't show a PWM option, it might be limiting how low you can set them.
