Hey everyone! I'm a 17-year-old who's been passionate about web development for about nine years now. I've made a couple of websites for friends and they've given me some great feedback on my designs. I'm currently building a portfolio website because I'm thinking about freelancing. However, I recently came across some posts that suggest the freelance market is really oversaturated, and it's made me a bit anxious about my prospects. I really want to pursue web development instead of doing manual labor, but I'm unsure of how to go about it. Just to let you know, I'm based in Poland and would ideally want to work within the European Union. I'd appreciate any advice or tips on how to earn money in this field. Thanks a lot!

Setting up a portfolio website is a must! Then, outline how much time you would need per project and choose an hourly rate that works for you. Also, check out WordPress for an easy start and reach out to local shops, stores, or businesses to offer your services. There's a lot of potential in your community!
Just because the market feels saturated doesn't mean you can't find your niche! New businesses pop up every day, and they all need websites. Start by focusing on your local area, and gradually expand. Create a solid portfolio website, and if you don't have client work to showcase yet, consider including some projects you've done for yourself or friends. If web development is your passion, keep pursuing it!
Just a heads up, have you checked into the legal side of things? You might need to set up a business and handle some tax stuff, social security, and contracts. Make sure you're aware of the regulations, especially since you're under 18. Coding is only a part of being a freelancer, so it's good to be prepared!
I can actually start my business legally, and I'm not expecting big income right away. In Poland, there’s a threshold below which you don’t need to register, so I’m looking at Useme to make it easier when the time comes.
Definitely! Before jumping into starting a company, it might be wise to test your market first. Freelancing could be a great fit as you build your skills.
