I've got an old Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga (2nd gen) that I bought secondhand a couple of years ago, and I'm finding it struggles to run most AAA games. It has 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM, an Intel Core i5-7300U CPU, and uses Intel HD Graphics 620. Since I'm a gamer, it's pretty inconvenient not being able to play some decent games. I'm hoping for tips on how to optimize my laptop so I can run games like Valorant or Genshin Impact. Upgrading isn't an option right now, so any advice would be super helpful!

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do to make that machine capable of running modern games. The integrated GPU is a significant bottleneck, and to upgrade that, you’d likely need to swap out the entire motherboard—assuming it’s even compatible with a decent GPU. So, I wouldn't expect much from it in terms of gaming performance in the long run. However, you could try adding more RAM, ensuring you have a decent SSD, and doing a fresh OS install. That might help with performance, but be prepared to run games on lower settings.
Not much you can do here, really. This laptop wasn't built for gaming, so playing any modern titles is going to be a challenge. You might be stuck with much older games if you want a smooth experience. Sorry to say, but that's just the reality with that setup!
Honestly, 8GB of RAM is pretty low for gaming these days, and without a dedicated GPU, it's going to be a tough time. Your CPU is also quite outdated. Your best bet for gaming on this laptop would be to target older, less demanding games. Linux could also be an option for lighter gaming, but then you won't be able to play Valorant.
