I'm using Debian on an old laptop that doesn't have a desktop environment, and I need to mirror the console output to an external monitor. Any advice on how to achieve that?

If you're aiming to mirror the console output, many systems used to do that by default, even back in the dial-up days. You might want to check if there are any settings in your system to enable console mirroring. Just curious, what kind of external screen are you trying to use?

I'm connecting to an old CRT monitor, just trying to keep it simple!

Have you tried configuring your laptop as a server? It might allow you to set up screen mirroring without a GUI. Just a thought!

What do you mean by 'server'? Are there specific commands I should look into?
