I'm looking for advice on how to charge for access to a URL or API without the hassle of setting up a full billing system. Typically, current methods require user accounts, subscription management, invoices, and a fair understanding of payment infrastructure, which feels like overkill for a straightforward need. We're currently testing out a preliminary approach to this issue and would love feedback from other developers. I'm particularly interested in whether this is a common problem for you, how you're currently handling it, and what factors would make a solution feel too complicated versus just right. If you are a developer working on a similar concept, let's connect and share ideas!

It's actually pretty straightforward. You can use API keys and charge either monthly or based on usage. Just keep track of requests, and you’re good to go.
Check out x402.org! It might be relevant for what you're building.
Awesome! I'm actually building a tool that leverages x402. Would love to chat and ask a few questions!
There are already several competing products out there, which might give you a good idea of what's working and what's not.

But how do you handle receiving payments?
