I have a 500GB NVMe SSD with my Windows installation and a 2TB SSD already in my setup. I've recently purchased a 4TB SSD to replace the 500GB drive. I initially thought I could transfer Windows to the 2TB SSD, but I found out that it needs to be empty and not partitioned. Now, I'm considering using an external NVMe adapter to connect the new 4TB SSD and transfer the OS that way. I'm uncertain about the best method to proceed and whether my Windows will boot properly after the transfer. Any advice?

Using Macrium Reflect is a great option for cloning your drive. Just connect your new SSD through an NVMe adapter and clone the Windows installation from the 500GB to the 4TB drive. Once you’ve cloned it, you can install the 4TB SSD into your motherboard, and it should boot just fine. Just make sure to check your BIOS settings if you run into any issues during boot-up.
I suggest using the Free version of Macrium. It’s user-friendly and effective for cloning your drive. After cloning with the NVMe adapter, you can install the new SSD, and you should be able to boot into Windows just as before. If it doesn’t boot right away, just go into your BIOS and set the new drive as the primary boot device.
