How can I overcome my doubts about my programming skills?

I'm in my second year of college as a beginner programmer, but I've been feeling really lost lately. Despite my enthusiasm for coding and having some experience with Python from high school, I often feel like I'm starting from scratch each time I sit down to code. I struggle with impostor syndrome, where no matter how much I learn, I second-guess my abilities. I have a habit of abandoning projects and constantly starting new ones, which is frustrating. I also tend to rely on AI for coding help, but it seems to hinder rather than help my learning. I'm looking for advice to break this cycle of confusion and anxiety about my skills and to feel more prepared in my programming journey.

My advice? Try to cut back on using AI for coding. While it might seem helpful, over-reliance can weaken your foundational skills. Learn from your peers and focus on gaining a deeper understanding of programming rather than looking for quick fixes with AI. Use it sparingly for clarification, not as a crutch, especially while you're still grasping the basics!

Exactly! Having strong fundamentals is crucial. Relying too much on AI early on can make it hard to maintain your code and understand what's actually happening.
