I've been having an issue with Windows 11 where it keeps auto-installing GPU drivers even though I already have the latest ones from AMD. This has happened twice now. The first time was a couple of months ago. Before I shut down my PC, I checked for updates, and one of them was an AMD display driver. After it installed, my monitors turned off for a few seconds, then came back on, but when I checked the Adrenalin software, it showed my drivers were downgraded again. I used DDU to reinstall the latest drivers after that.
I've already gone into Device Installation Settings and selected 'No' for automatically downloading manufacturers' apps and custom icons, but that didn't help. I also tried using the 'Microsoft Show or Hide Updates' tool to block the update, but that didn't work either. I know there's a method using the Local Group Policy Editor, but I can't access that since I have the Home version of Windows 11. Is there anything else I can do to stop this from happening?

Sure thing! Make sure you've set the Device Installation Settings correctly. Right-click the Start button, go to Settings, then About, and find Advanced system settings. Click the Hardware tab, and under Device Installation Settings, choose "No, do not automatically download manufacturers' apps and custom icons." Don't forget to save changes! If that doesn’t help, I’ve used Group Policy and it worked, but since you can’t access it, just try focusing on the Registry edits.
You might want to edit the Registry since Local Group Policy Editor isn't available on Windows Home. Just search online for guides on how to do that. Be cautious though, as changing the wrong thing in the Registry can mess up your system. Some sites that usually provide good info, like ElevenForums, might have what you need. Good luck!
Thanks for the tip! I’ll check out ElevenForums. I've been hesitant about the Registry since I don’t want to end up causing more issues, but I guess it's worth a shot.

I’ve done the settings before and had similar results. Still got updates that messed with my drivers. Just be ready to manage the Registry changes if you go that route.
