I've been facing repeated hacking attempts for what feels like forever this month, and I'm really worried. I use unique passwords for different platforms and checked on haveibeenpwned, so I'm perplexed about how this is happening. I've been thinking it might be malware or maybe I fell victim to some phishing scheme. I want to avoid wiping my PC unless absolutely necessary since it has a lot of important files.
I've run scans with Bitdefender, Windows Security, Malwarebytes, and HitmanPro, and they've all returned negative results. I even did an offline scan through Windows Security. Recently, I had some concerning login attempts on my Microsoft accounts from all over the globe, but thankfully, they had the wrong passwords.
My Steam account got hacked too, and my brother's linked Roblox account (which is connected to my email) was accessed by hackers from Russia! I've narrowly escaped issues with my Gmail, but I think I'm in for it eventually. I've already changed my passwords, issued new cards, and set up 2FA on some accounts. But I had instances where hackers accessed my accounts without any notification emails. What should I do to protect my accounts further? Is wiping my PC the only option?

You might want to check if your browser is compromised. Consider removing all extensions and add-ons, just to be safe. Make sure your firewall and antivirus are set up properly and definitely reboot your computer after that.
Doing regular checks on those can help prevent future issues!
Honestly, if you're not seeing any malware after multiple scans, it might not be worth wiping your PC just yet. Just continue changing passwords and keep your security measures strong, like 2FA where possible. Keep a close eye on your accounts too!
That's what I’m doing! Constant vigilance is key, right?
Absolutely, better safe than sorry with all this craziness happening!
It sounds super frustrating! It's actually pretty normal for accounts to face tons of login attempts daily. But for your Steam and Roblox troubles, it does sound like phishing was involved. Just stay on guard!
Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I get login attempts on some of my accounts, but not as severe as yours!
I've had similar issues! It's wild how committed hackers can be.
I use Chrome a lot and already removed my extensions. Everything seems fine, thankfully!
