How can I prove my landlord received important documents?

I'm in the process of suing my landlord and need to make sure he receives the evidence I have. The last time I sent it, he claimed he didn't get anything, so I want to ensure I can prove he has access to it. Since he lives in a different state, I was hoping to find a service—like Dropbox or Google Drive—that can track who opens or downloads the files. Ideally, if I could get an IP address from his state, that would help confirm it was him who accessed the documents. I've heard about link shorteners, but I'm looking for something more reliable. Is there a file-sharing service that could cater to this need, or is there a way through email that I can confirm he opened it? Unfortunately, Gmail doesn't provide that feature.

It's really important to consult your lawyer for guidance on this. They can tell you what methods are valid under your local laws, as this is a legal matter and not a tech issue.

Thanks for the advice! I will definitely reach out to my lawyer to get their input.

You're looking at a process service issue here. Different courts have specific rules for proving delivery of legal documents. If you're unsure, it's best to hire a lawyer to avoid any mistakes that could hurt your case.
