How can I prove that IPv6 is disabled on my Windows machines?

Management asked me to disable IPv6 on our Windows devices, even though I know it's generally not a good practice. Despite my reservations, I used the registry method outlined in a Microsoft article to disable it and deployed the settings via Group Policy. However, the network adapter still shows a checkmark for IPv6, and I need to find a way to demonstrate that it's truly disabled. Is there a specific tool or method that can provide evidence of this?

A Microsoft rep mentioned that since IPv6 is integrated into Windows, disabling it can lead to communication problems. I’d suggest sharing the information in the same article you used with your manager. It states that IPv6 is a key component of the OS and discourages disabling it. They really shouldn't be making you do this if the risks are documented so clearly.

It’s crazy how often management ignores best practices. You’ve got some solid backup from Microsoft to bring to the table.
