How Can I Recover Data from My Dead Phone?

I've got this old broken Android A13 that won't turn on anymore, and I recently got a new phone of a different brand. Most of my important stuff was saved directly to the phone rather than the memory card. Is there a way to recover my data?

If the phone won’t turn on at all, your best bet might be to find a data recovery specialist who can desolder the chip and read it. It's not the easiest route, but it’s sometimes necessary to get that data back.

That sounds complicated! I’ve actually reached out to a shop and I'm waiting to hear back.

It really depends on whether you had ADB enabled before it broke. If you did, you might be able to transfer files to your new phone using MTP. But if not, the chances of recovering data via software are pretty slim. If your data is on an SD card, that’s easy—just take it out and pop it into your PC. But if everything's directly on the phone, you might need professional help.

Thanks for the advice! I'm leaning toward the repair shop and hoping they can retrieve it.

It's a bit of a long shot since you mentioned it's not an iPhone, but if you had any cloud backup set up, you could recover some files that way. Just something to think about!

You might want to try taking it to a repair shop; they might be able to recover the data for you. It can be tricky if you're not experienced, but hey, since the phone is already broken, what's the harm in giving it a shot?

Thanks for the tip! I think I'll go for the repair shop since I have no clue what I'm doing!

I agree! Just remember, if you're unsure how to do it yourself, you could risk damaging it further.
