I've been getting alerts from my antivirus about a malicious website, memory-scanner.cc, trying to open in Internet Explorer. This has happened at least three times today, but I'm not able to find any related files on my computer. Interestingly, it doesn't open in Chrome or Edge, which are the other browsers I use. Is there a way to completely eliminate this issue?

If your antivirus is blocking the site, it’s likely that the virus isn’t on your computer. That warning is a good sign your antivirus is doing its job. However, there may still be some risk if the site is malicious, so avoid visiting it unless absolutely necessary. Stay cautious as new viruses keep popping up. It's always better to be safe!
It sounds like you might be dealing with a browser hijack virus. I'd recommend using a different computer to look up solutions, since searching on the infected one can lead you to more risky sites. Common fixes include deleting certain files, removing unwanted startup processes, and sometimes tweaking registry settings. It's frustrating, I know! Please make sure to back up your important data, just in case anything goes wrong during the fixing process.
I did some digging, and that site is pretty sketchy! I found a malicious file linked to it, but I couldn't read it because it was designed to hide its intentions. This makes me leery. If you can, keep the infected machine offline—better safe than sorry! But ultimately, if you're feeling worried, a full reset might be the way to go!
