How Can I Remove My Personal Data from a MDM-Locked MacBook?

I'm in a bit of a pickle here! I've got a MacBook M3 Pro that's locked by MDM because I need to return it to my company. The problem is, I mistakenly synced my Google account on it, and now it has all my saved Chrome passwords and credit card info. I really don't trust the IT department with my personal data. Is there any way I can wipe or remove this data before returning the laptop? Any advice would really help!

If you used your personal Chrome profile, you can delete it before returning the laptop. Check out this guide on how to do that: [How to Delete a Chrome Profile](https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2364824?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop). It’ll help clear out your personal data.

When you send the laptop back, it’ll go to the IT department, and they’ll likely wipe it clean before doing anything else. Just make sure to unsync your Google profile to ease your worries about your data.

You could just unsync your Google profile. It’s a straightforward way to remove your saved data. Just head into Chrome settings and look for the sync options.

Thanks for the tip, I’ll try to find that option!

Most likely, your company will just re-image the laptop as soon as they get it back. They usually don't have the time to check your personal info thoroughly—that's a big security risk for them. So it’s probably safer than you think!

That’s a bit of a relief! I wasn't sure if they had a different account set up on it, but thanks for easing my mind!
