I received a Nintendo Switch from my parents, and they have their own Switch that uses the same account. I'm interested in leaving their account to create my own. My plan is to completely reset my Switch, but I'm worried that doing so will also wipe their data. Can someone help me understand what I need to do to reset mine without affecting theirs?

Yeah, resetting one Switch can't mess with another. Just note that if you reset it, you'll lose any data for the games you have on your device. If you're worried about losing your stuff, think about backing up first!

Rest assured, resetting your Switch won't impact your parents' Switch at all. They're completely independent of one another. Just keep in mind that resetting yours will erase any saved game data, so make sure you've backed up anything important before you go for it!
