How Can I Safely Use My Old HDD as a Secondary Drive?

Hey folks! I recently finished building my new PC and I'm looking to utilize my old HDD from my previous computer as a secondary drive. I'd like to know what steps I should take to safely connect it to my new system. My plan is to use the old HDD for backups and have my SSD as the primary boot drive. The HDD has been in use for about ten years, so I'm not sure what files are on it, but I want to avoid any issues with drivers or Windows conflicts. Any advice on how to proceed?

You can definitely use your old HDD as a D: drive for storing backups. Before plugging it in, I recommend using a tool like CrystalDiskInfo to check its health and status. It will show you if there are any bad sectors or issues with its performance.

Sounds like a plan! I'll make sure to check its status, but I get the feeling it won't be in great shape. Just worried about how it might interact with my new PC's drivers.
