How Can I Save Money on My PC Build?

I've put together a PC build around a Gigabyte 3070 that I got from a friend, which you can check out here: [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Vkjmcx](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Vkjmcx). However, it's a bit over my budget. I was aiming to spend around $750 for everything except the GPU I already own. Are there any parts that I've chosen that are more expensive than necessary? Additionally, I want to make sure this build lasts a while, which is why I included an AM5 motherboard and an 850W power supply.

I’d suggest looking for a case with a full mesh front panel for better airflow. Beyond that, reducing the CPU to a 9600X can save you some cash. If you already have SSDs, maybe you could hold off on getting a new one for now!

What's the advantage of a mesh front? Also, I'll definitely consider the 9600X and check if my SSDs are compatible.

A common area where people overspend is on CPUs. For simple builds, a high-end CPU like the 9800X3D might not be necessary. I’ve got a 7700X running fine with my 9070 XT without any bottleneck.

Consider switching to a 9600X instead of the 7800X3D; it's more than sufficient for the 3070 and should help keep you under budget.

With some adjustments, you might find that a 9700X can deliver performance close to the 7800X3D but at a lower price.
