I'm looking for ways to screen record an app that has restrictions against it. I can use my laptop if needed, and I'm currently on a Samsung phone. Any tips on how to get around this?

Have you considered using a capture card? That can work for recording most apps unless they have really tight security around them.
Just a heads up, we can't really help you bypass any DRM protections. I’d avoid trying to use another device for this purpose—it can damage your HDMI or DisplayPort.
You might want to check out a game recording program like SteelSeries, especially if you have an MSI laptop. It's a really reliable fullscreen recorder and it works pretty well. Just be aware that it’s free for MSI users; not sure if it’ll work on other devices though. Maybe give it a shot!
I tried using SteelSeries, but I ran into a problem. When I open the protected app while sharing my screen, it just goes black on my laptop.
Unfortunately, it’s super protected, so I don't think that will help.
