I recently got a new internet service for my home, and I've been frustrated to find that my wired connections are only getting 100 Mbps on my 500 Mbps plan. After checking the router settings, I noticed all Ethernet ports default to 100 Mbps. I attempted to change one port to 1000 Mbps, but it keeps defaulting to 10 Mbps instead. My main PC does get the full 1000 Mbps, but the other ports aren't cooperating. What steps can I take to resolve this? I'm open to any suggestions or advice. Thanks a lot!

First off, make sure to contact your internet service provider. They can confirm whether your setup is correct and if there’s an issue on their end. Sometimes, the ISP has specific settings that need to be adjusted for higher speeds.
You might want to check your Ethernet cables. If they're older models, like CAT 5, they might not support the higher speeds properly. Ideally, you should be using at least CAT 5e or CAT 6 cables to get those 1000 Mbps speeds. If you've already tried new cables and it's still not working, it could be a port settings issue.
I’m actually using a CAT 6 cable, but I’ll check with some others just in case!
