How can I set up automatic texts from my WhatsApp account based on emails I receive?

Asked By CuriousCoder23 On

I'm looking to create a program that can automatically send texts using my WhatsApp business account or my regular number whenever I receive booking emails. These emails usually contain names and phone numbers of the guests who booked my service. Ideally, I'd like the program to scan the email, send them a greeting, and save their contact information. Is this type of automation possible? If so, who should I hire to help with this, or could I attempt to make it myself? I appreciate any insights!

Just to clarify, what exactly is a "WA business account"? I’m not very familiar but I could probably help you for free if it’s straightforward.

I’d definitely compensate you if you could help, even if it seems simple!

Yes, it’s definitely possible! If the emails you receive have a consistent format, you can create a script that checks your inbox every few minutes to gather that information. There are many programming languages that can help with this; I recommend picking one that has a good library for handling emails.

Do you know how much something like this would cost or where to find someone to help?

Have you tried using AI coding tools like Bolt or Cursor? They can simplify the coding process and might provide better responses than chatting with people! You can access them for free to see how it fits your needs.

You might want to look into CRM software like Hubspot. It can manage client communications and might do exactly what you're asking for, but I'm not an expert on it myself.

Have you considered using Zapier? It’s a low-code solution that can automate this process for you! They even have AI help to guide you in setting it up, which might suit your needs since you mentioned coding isn't your strong suit.

You got me there with the skills part. I’m interested, just not sure where to start.

Thanks for bringing up Zapier!

It's actually pretty straightforward if your phone service provides an API for sending texts. Just read the email to pull out the info and send a message. But a heads-up, make sure you have consent from your customers to text them, as there are regulations around that.

I have an iPhone with Verizon. Do you think I could try making this myself?

What do you mean by SMS rules?
