How Can I Set Up My Own Wi-Fi in a Shared Living Space?

I'm currently living in a paying guest accommodation where we all share a common Wi-Fi connection, but it's pretty terrible. I've noticed that the same Internet Service Provider (ISP) has lines already installed in the building. Can I request them to set up a separate router just for me with a different plan?

Instead of relying on us for help, why not just reach out to your ISP directly? They might have specific options for your situation. Alternatively, you could consider something like Starlink or even a mobile hotspot if you need something immediately.

You can definitely call your ISP and ask them about setting up a separate connection just for you. Since they already have infrastructure in the building, it should be possible. Just be sure to ask about any additional costs or fees involved!

Just to clarify, a PG is essentially a rented furnished room. If you're in an accommodation like that, it might vary by place how they handle extra connections, so definitely check with your ISP.
