I'm currently running Windows 11 and have been wanting to switch to Linux for a while, particularly since a lot of my friends have made the switch. However, I rely on some games that aren't available on Linux. I've got two SSDs in my laptop right now: the first one (SSD1) is where I want to install Linux, and the second one (SSD2) I plan to set up with 200GB for Windows 10 and the remaining 300GB for Linux. I've heard from friends that Windows 10 should be installed first, with the 200GB as the first partition, to avoid complications. What's the best way to approach this?

Your friends are right; installing Linux on a machine that already has Windows is usually easier than the other way around. If your Windows is already set up, you might need to adjust your partitions or even reinstall Windows. I suggest letting the Linux installer handle the partitioning automatically for dual-booting rather than manually selecting what goes on each SSD. Once you're comfortable with the setup, you can always go back and customize the partitions later to your liking.
But he's not trying to install Linux alongside his current Windows installation; he wants to set up separate drives!
