Hey everyone! I'm an IT major, but it's been a while since I've actively worked in the field. My older laptop is starting to slow down, and I really need it for a lot of online tasks like research, shopping, and general web browsing. I've already tried uninstalling unnecessary programs and deleting large files, and my desktop is pretty tidy with just one folder and the recycling bin. I'm looking for quick and easy ways to improve its speed on Windows 11, especially since it freezes when I have too many tabs open. Any tips would be much appreciated!

If your laptop is older, you might want to consider switching to Linux. It can breathe new life into older hardware without the glitches that Windows 11 might create. A fresh install of Windows could also help speed things up.
Disabling SysMain in Services can help improve performance. It’s supposed to predict what you’ll use, but it often ends up slowing down your system. After you disable it, reboot your laptop and then check task manager for any processes using too much CPU.
Closing some tabs could help. Each open tab uses a fair amount of memory and CPU resources, so try to keep it to just a couple at a time if you notice freezing.
Also, consider using an adblocker; it can lighten the load on your browser too!
Sometimes the antivirus or multiple security programs can slow things down significantly. You might want to streamline those programs or disable ones you don't necessarily need running all the time. Also, check your RAM and see how much you're using; if it's constantly maxing out, that could be a big issue.
It’s worth checking your Task Manager to see what's hogging your resources. If your CPU or RAM is always at 100%, you might have programs that are running in the background and eating up power unnecessarily.
