How can I start earning money with programming at 16?

I've been programming for about 2.5 years now, mainly using C#, Unity, Java with Android Studio, and a little bit of Swift with Xcode. I really want to earn some money through programming because I enjoy it. However, since I'm only 16, I can't join freelance platforms. I'm wondering if there are any opportunities for freelance work as a Unity or mobile developer where my age won't be an issue.

Have you checked out opportunities like Google Summer of Code? They offer paid programs ideal for those with less experience.

Right now, it's a challenging job market, and high school students usually lack the experience needed for paying gigs. It might be a better choice to focus on building your skills and experience for now.

Why not build something yourself that people would actually want? Going freelance without a portfolio isn't going to be very easy. Maybe focus on creating your own projects!

Consider applying for part-time coding gigs or even creating your own app to sell. Just remember, freelancers typically need some work experience first.

It's tough to land freelance work at 16, so I suggest looking for a part-time job instead. You might find that it pays better and gives you some valuable experience too.
