Hey folks! Since the summer of 2025, I got a new phone and gave my old one to my dad after a factory reset. Initially, I thought everything was fine when I logged into my shared Gmail account, but then things got weird. Our contacts merged, photos got mixed up, and now his phone is automatically logged into my Messenger and Facebook without asking for permissions or passwords. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is using a shared Gmail account causing these problems?

When you're sharing a Gmail account, you're actually sharing your entire Google account, which includes saved logins and passwords. That's probably why all that info is getting mixed up.
Seriously, sharing a Gmail account isn’t a good idea! You two should definitely have your own separate accounts. It might be time to create a new Gmail account or even switch to something like ProtonMail to keep everything private.

I agree! To help transition to your new email, consider setting up a forwarding rule to keep your dad in the loop while you disentangle everything.
