Hi everyone! I'm reaching out because my 11-year-old son has developed a deep passion for coding. Every evening, I catch him at his computer, totally engrossed in writing code. He seems to have a knack for it, but I'm struggling to keep up. I've tried learning some programming languages myself, but I work in construction and my brain just operates differently. I want to support his interest and engage with him, but I don't fully understand what he's doing.
I've taken him to a couple of local coding meetups, but he found them too simple. I want to know how I can better support him—should I look for online courses, coding kits, or other resources? What can I do to show him my enthusiasm for his interests, even if I don't grasp the technical side? Any advice from parents or experienced coders would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Just let him enjoy what he loves! Interfering might make him lose interest. At the end of the day, if he’s passionate, that’s what counts. The internet is packed with resources and he’ll find what he needs. Just encourage him to keep exploring!

Absolutely, I want him to dive in! I just feel like I want to set him up for success, even if it’s just for fun.
