I've got a single laptop and I'm looking to make the switch to Linux. My goal is to transfer all of my data, including saved game progress, but I don't have any large external storage options. Is there a way to set up Linux so I can access my Windows data during the transition and then safely delete the Windows installation afterwards?

Check out the migration section on our wiki! It has some great tips for transitioning. It could also be useful to run a dual boot setup initially, which allows you to access your files from Windows while getting Linux set up. Use an external drive to transfer your data over, but remember to make that backup first!
If you're using Steam for your games, the cloud usually saves your game progress automatically. But since you mentioned downloading games directly, I’d recommend manually backing up your game save files before you make the switch. This way, you won’t lose any progress.
