I'm having major issues with my computer not booting at all, whether I try using an M.2 drive or a flash drive. I've already tested the RAM, GPU, and power supply, and they all work fine on another system. I bought a new motherboard, but it still freezes randomly during boot or even in the BIOS. The CPU temperature seems normal, around 35-45 degrees Celsius, and there's no visible damage on the CPU. I'm starting to suspect there might be some BIOS settings causing problems, but I'm hesitant to update the BIOS due to these freezes. Has anyone experienced similar issues before? Here are my specs: B550M-A WIFI II, GTX 1660 Super, AMD Ryzen 5 5500, COOLER MASTER MWE 750 W Bronze, Kingston Fury DDR4 16GBx2. Thanks for any help!

Your approach sounds right, but be cautious with BIOS updates if you're seeing freezes. A solid step would be to swap out the CPU with another one if you have access. It’s better to rule it out than to keep guessing!
Definitely test them both! I can't say for sure, but it's more common for motherboards to glitch than CPUs. However, if you can, a different CPU would give you the best clarity on what's causing the boot issues.
Sounds like you've done quite a bit of testing already! From what you're saying, it really seems like the motherboard might be the issue. I faced something similar, and ultimately it turned out to be a faulty board that caused all the problems. Maybe try a different motherboard if possible?

Yeah, but if the CPU behaves the same way on multiple motherboards, then it could definitely be the CPU itself. I've had a Ryzen 5500 that was dead on arrival.
