I recently bought an older model iPhone Pro, but I'm starting to have doubts about its authenticity. The service history indicates that several parts like the battery, camera, and display are marked as 'unknown'. Additionally, the Face ID feature isn't working, the camera performance is poor, and the display has a purplish tint. However, the serial numbers match, and the phone seems to function normally otherwise—my SIM card works, and I can make calls. Is it safe to use this phone and put my personal information on it?

It sounds like your phone is genuine, but it seems to have had some unofficial parts replaced. The Face ID issue might be a permanent problem, but you can double-check if it's authentic by using Siri and trying to update to the latest OS version (iOS 26). If that works, you're probably in the clear to add personal info!
If you're okay with the possibility of having non-Apple parts inside, then using it should be fine. Just keep in mind that if the parts aren't original, you might experience more issues down the line. If this device doesn’t meet your standards, consider looking for a replacement, but I understand it can be tricky with a private sale.
