I'm looking to switch from Windows 11 to Zorin OS on my laptop. I've tried using Zorin on a virtual machine and really like it, better than some other beginner-friendly distributions like Ubuntu and Linux Mint. I know how to install Zorin on my laptop, but I'm wondering if there's a way to do the installation without losing access to my apps and website logins. I'm just getting started with Linux, so I'm not too familiar with the process yet.

You could consider cloning your VM image and writing it to your main drive. While I haven't done it personally, looking up "vm image to bare metal install" should yield some helpful results. Alternatively, backing up your VM's '/home' directory and restoring it on a fresh Zorin install is another option.
When you format your machine, you'll lose all files and logins stored on it, so make sure to back up your important files to an external drive or the cloud. You can keep your '/home' folder during reinstallation if needed, but I usually suggest having a complete backup of everything, including passwords. Just remember, files are irreplaceable while hardware can be replaced easily.
Most Linux distros let you create a backup snapshot that you can convert into a disk image, making it easy to transfer over to a new install. I use MX Linux for this feature, but Zorin OS likely has something similar since it's also a polished distro. It should allow you to unpack everything exactly as it was on your virtual machine.
