How Can I Troubleshoot My Super Slow Internet?

I've been dealing with really slow internet today, and it's frustrating! I've already reset my modem and the fiber wall mount converter, but my phone and PC are still getting terrible service. I'm on a 1 GB plan, but I can't even get 1 Mb. I plan to call my service provider tomorrow, but in the meantime, how can I troubleshoot this issue? Any tips?

Try checking the speed using a network cable instead. If it's only slow wirelessly, there might be some interference you need to address.

First, try calling your ISP to see if there are any local issues affecting your service. They should know about any outages or problems in your area.

Disconnect all devices except your PC and check the task manager for network usage. Sometimes a Windows update can keep downloading, which can slow things down. Also, if you're on Wi-Fi, interference could be causing the lag, so make sure your router's channels are clear.

It sounds rough! I remember the worst internet experience was in Estonia when some farmer accidentally plowed through the only line in and out. But for you, reaching out to your service provider is definitely the right move!

If you've already restarted your modem and everything is still slow, calling your ISP is key. They might send someone to check the line signals if all your devices have a bad connection.
