Hey everyone! I just watched a really interesting video by Zach's Tech Turf about setting up home servers, and it got me thinking about using my old PC as a server for virtual machines (VMs). I'm currently facing some challenges running VMs on my laptop, and I want a stable setup to practice Linux for work and for some other learning in the future. I've been on the hunt for guides, but I'm not finding much help. Has anyone here attempted something similar? Any tips or guidance would be appreciated!

What exactly are you looking for help with? The topics you mentioned could lead to a ton of different directions, so it’s hard to know where to point you. If you need to set up a hypervisor, I'd say go for Proxmox—it’s a solid choice to get you started. Let me know if you want more specific info!

Thanks for the advice! I'm trying to decide which hypervisor to choose and also want to know how to connect to it from my laptop once it's up and running. Should I look into the hypervisor's documentation for that?
