I recently bought a phone from Back Market, but it turns out that it's locked to AT&T. I'm wondering how to go about getting it unlocked. Is there a chance of getting it unlocked, or do I need to consider getting a replacement?

Seriously, couldn't anyone have given a little more detail here? Just saying 'a phone' isn't super helpful at all.

You should definitely reach out to AT&T directly to request an unlock. Just make sure the phone isn’t on a blacklist and that it was paid off by the previous owner. If everything checks out, they should be able to help you out!

Yeah, but isn't it a bit alarming how easy it can be to manipulate these settings? It kind of raises some security concerns in my mind. Just be cautious!

Make sure to check the rules that come with the phone; they might have some specifics about the unlocking process you need to keep in mind. Good luck!

AT&T has an unlock request form that you can fill out. It took me about an hour to sort mine out, and they were pretty helpful. If it gets too complicated or takes too long, you might want to think about returning the phone instead.
