How Can I Use My PC in Different Rooms for Business Without Moving It?

Hey everyone! I currently have a Windows PC that I mainly use for sim racing, but I also want to utilize it for an online business that I run upstairs. I'm looking for a way to do this without having to constantly move my PC back and forth. I can't use an HDMI cable because it would take up too much space. Are there any apps or products that could help me achieve this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There are a ton of ways to set this up, depending on your budget and needs. If you really want the best experience, having your PC in a dedicated server room and using something like an Icron to connect your monitor and USB devices over Ethernet can offer close to 1:1 feature parity across rooms. However, if you just need basic access, you could use Windows' built-in remote desktop feature from your phone. Alternatively, look into getting a cheap PC for remote desktop use or even a Raspberry Pi to stream your desktop.

Why not consider getting another PC for your upstairs setup? It really depends on what your business requires, though. What exactly are you planning to do?

Pretty much just need internet access. Besides, PCs can be quite pricey!

If you have a laptop, you could use a Remote Desktop application! You can also access it via your phone, but the experience might not be the best. A laptop might be a simple solution if you’re okay with using that for your business activities instead of setting up a whole new system.

That’s a good point! If I have to use a laptop, it could definitely simplify things.
