How Can I Use My PC Remotely While I’m Away at University?

Hey everyone! I'm about to fly across the country for university in a few weeks and I'm stuck deciding whether to bring my desktop PC or leave it at home. Last year I shipped it, but with plans to study abroad in the spring, I'm wondering if it's worth the hassle for just one semester. If I do bring it, I would need to ship it soon to have it when I arrive and then back home when the semester ends. So, I'm looking for reliable ways to access my PC remotely after I leave. Are there tools or software I can use? Since I game a lot, will performance be significantly affected? Also, could I run high-demand stuff like VR remotely? Any advice or alternatives would really help!

You can use software like TeamViewer, AnyDesk, or NoMachine for remote access. They'll let you control your PC from afar, but keep in mind that the performance might not be as good as sitting right in front of it, especially for graphics. Also, while Windows Remote Desktop is efficient, it requires some setup like opening ports, which might not be the safest option. I'd suggest NoMachine since it's user-friendly and reliable for accessing your desktop remotely.
