Hi everyone! I'm really in a bind and could use some expert advice. I have an Asus ROG Strix G15 G512LI laptop, but the built-in screen is broken. I'm currently using an external monitor through HDMI, which works perfectly fine once Windows boots up. However, the external monitor doesn't display anything before the Windows login screen, which means I can't access the BIOS or any troubleshooting options that require access before booting up. Here are the details:
- I've completely disconnected the laptop's internal display from both the motherboard and the cable below the screen.
- The external monitor is connected via HDMI.
- In Windows settings and DxDiag, it only detects one display (the external one), driven by the NVIDIA GTX 1650 Ti.
So, I'm at a standstill without a way to access the BIOS or see anything before Windows loads. Any help, ideas, or even wild experiments would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like your integrated GPU is set as the primary display adapter, which usually outputs the BIOS. Some laptops allow you to change that setting to preferably use the dedicated GPU for BIOS output, but you'll need to access the BIOS first to make that change. Unfortunately, many laptops don't let you configure this at all.

So, is there truly no option to display the BIOS on the external monitor? Is there a way to force the HDMI port to use the integrated GPU?
