I recently set up a USB to ethernet adapter for my Nintendo Switch since I have a Gigabit internet connection. However, I'm experiencing much slower speeds than anticipated, with download speeds only at 146.8 Mbps and upload speeds at 51.8 Mbps. Is this typical for the Switch? Is there anything I can do to improve the situation?

It's not surprising that the Switch might not reach full gigabit speeds. To troubleshoot, try plugging the USB adapter into a laptop or PC and see what kind of speeds you get. Then test it with the ethernet cable directly into the PC, bypassing the USB adapter. This can help you figure out if the issue lies with your internet connection or the adapter itself. Some cheaper adapters can struggle, relying too much on the device's CPU. While you're testing on the PC, keeping an eye on CPU usage may reveal if the adapter is stressing it.

I did the tests, and it turns out the adapter works great on my PC but still performs poorly with the Switch. I even tried a direct connection to the router, but got the same speeds.
