Hey everyone! My dad just got a smart TV and we've set it up with WiFi, but I'm curious about how we can actually watch YouTube and Netflix on it. Do we need to buy anything extra, like a device or an extension? If so, which ones are best? Any recommendations would be super helpful!

If you're looking for alternative ways, Apple TV is also a solid choice—just keep in mind some older versions might not support certain apps anymore. You might want to check if your TV has all the features you need before going that route!
Most smart TVs come with built-in apps for Netflix and YouTube, so you might not need anything extra. Just check your TV's app menu to see if they're already there. If YouTube isn't pre-installed, it usually has an app store where you can download it. If you want more options, you could get a Roku Stick, Apple TV, or Fire Stick. I recommend the Fire Stick since it's user-friendly and supports both apps. Just make sure you mean regular YouTube and not the YouTube TV service, right?
Yes, I definitely mean regular YouTube! My dad's considering getting a Fire Stick, so that sounds good!
Yeah, I had the Apple TV version 3 and it can be quite limited; not all apps are supported anymore.
