My dad called me and mentioned he's having trouble with his phone's keyboard. Whenever he types a message, the text preview bar that usually appears above the keyboard isn't showing up; instead, it's hidden behind the keyboard. I noticed that the keyboard looks off-center and narrower than it should. We think he might have accidentally enabled One-Handed Mode, but when I asked him to check in his settings for that option, he couldn't find it. He has a Moto G Power 5G. I'm trying to help him over phone calls and texts since we live far apart, and I'm considering using screen sharing to troubleshoot. Any advice would be really helpful!

Before doing anything else, tell him to try restarting the phone. Sometimes that can resolve weird glitches like this!
If you're still having keyboard trouble, try clearing the app storage from the settings. Just keep in mind it’ll reset any custom settings or learned words. Also, you can screen share through WhatsApp, which might help a lot!
We managed to fix the issue! I guided him to go to Settings > Apps > Gboard and then he clicked on "clear storage". That did the trick instantly, thank goodness!
It's also a good idea to check if he installed any third-party keyboard apps that might be causing the problem.
