How Can UK Founders Get AWS Credits?

I'm currently building an online product and I'm curious about how early-stage founders in the UK can obtain AWS credits legally. I'm particularly interested in methods like AWS Activate, partnerships, or startup support programs. If you've managed to secure credits, please share your experiences, including which program helped you, the eligibility requirements you met, whether you needed any revenue or funding, the approval timeline, and any possible pitfalls to avoid. I'm only seeking genuine advice and experiences, not resale offers. Thanks for your help!

I got $1,000 through the normal AWS Activate route and even had the chance to apply again for up to $100,000. The first $1,000 came really quickly, and I just had to provide my company details to get it. I didn’t pursue the second round though, so can’t speak on that.

Most founders in the UK typically secure AWS credits through the AWS Activate program, especially via an accelerator or incubator. Having a solid product and backing from a program definitely smooths the approval process.

I’m in the UK and received $15,000 in AWS credits through a VC funding deal linked with the NVIDIA Inception program, which partners with AWS Activate. The process was pretty quick, and since we had VC backing, we easily met all their criteria. I believe it's possible to apply to NVIDIA Inception without needing VC funding, but there might be some boxes you need to check off. Also, my experience suggests AWS credits typically don’t require any revenue since they expect to make a small loss as you grow into the platform.

You can definitely reach out to an AWS partner to find out about available credits and opportunities they might offer.

What kind of credit are you aiming for? I got $1,000 fast just by contacting AWS support with my product plan.
