I'm curious about what it would take, from an infrastructure standpoint, to create an open source local council. Specifically, could using Zero Knowledge proofs ensure that users can vote while keeping their privacy intact? I've tried asking my local council for a detailed account of where my tax dollars go, but I've always hit a wall. Ideally, I'd love to have a system where I can easily check a dashboard to see where funds are allocated. For instance, if there's a pothole, I want to be able to open a ticket and have the community track its resolution in real-time.

Setting up the technology isn't a major challenge. You can find existing solutions that just need some tweaks. The real hurdle is getting people to actually use the system. There seems to be a reluctance among some politicians to embrace new technologies.
This seems more like a social issue than a technical one—think open government ideals and engagement.
Don't you think that these social and technical aspects are interlinked? We're discussing these issues in a tech-enabled forum right now.
