I've been trying out Linux for a few months now, but I've decided it's not for me and want to completely remove Ubuntu from my computer. I've disabled WSL, but I can't find Ubuntu listed in the apps or programs section of the control panel. However, I still see it in File Explorer, and the folder is empty. I also don't have the original installation file in my downloads. My goal is to free up space and eliminate all traces of it on my system. Any step-by-step advice would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you might be using WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux), which is a bit different than a standard Linux installation. If you want to completely remove WSL and any traces of Ubuntu, your best bet might be to perform a clean install of Windows. You can follow this [guide](https://rtech.support/installations/install-11/) for the steps. Just be careful with your existing Windows files!
If you downloaded Ubuntu directly, check the downloads folder for any uninstall instructions or leftover files. Sometimes there's a setup file or guide that can help you completely remove it. If it's not there, I suggest trying to search your computer for any other Ubuntu-related files to delete them manually.
I've searched my downloads but found nothing! It's just that annoying icon in the File Explorer.
Yikes, I really don't want to wipe my entire system. I just want that penguin icon gone! Is there any other way?
