I'm trying to figure out how to connect my Sony DCR-SR42 camcorder, which uses a mini-USB output through a dock, to my iPhone that uses a lightning cable. Is there a specific adapter or a certain way to connect these two devices for transferring videos?

If you have a mini-USB to USB-A cable, you can connect that directly to Apple's Lightning to USB camera adapter. Just be sure to double-check the compatibility of your devices!
Most likely, you'll need to transfer your files through a PC first. You can upload the videos from your camcorder to your computer, and then send them to your phone from there.
