I think I might have been hacked on April 1st. It seems like someone accessed my computer and used my email, PayPal, and Amazon accounts to make unauthorized purchases. They even dumped all the confirmation emails into the trash! I reached out to PayPal, but they insisted I made the purchases, so I'm also checking my other cards and reporting any suspicious activity. I'm trying to figure out how they got access to my computer—should I investigate this, or is it better to let the police handle it? Also, is it wise to just reinstall Windows? I found some logs about 'Roam complete' around the time these purchases happened. Does that have any significance?

Sadly, the police probably won't investigate your computer for you. If Amazon, PayPal, and your bank don’t help, you're kind of stuck. I'd suggest reinstalling Windows to clean your system and definitely changing all your passwords. Watch out for anyone reaching out claiming they can recover your money; they’re likely scammers.
Consider using a password manager like Keeper Security. It simplifies account security with just one password and uses an authenticator app for multi-factor authentication. Even if someone gets your password, they won't easily access your accounts without your phone. It's free and very effective at keeping your stuff safe. Plus, it auto-generates hard-to-guess passwords!
