How do I install mods for Skyrim from GOG on Linux?

I'm new to Linux and I'm currently using Mint. I play Skyrim through the Heroic Launcher, but I've been struggling to get Vortex mod manager to work properly. If anyone could point me to a good tutorial or provide some guidance on how to get mods for Skyrim when using GOG, I'd really appreciate it!

You might want to check this guide for installing Vortex on Linux: https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/1n1qt7t/guide_to_installing_vortex_mod_manager_on_linux/.

Have you considered using Mod Organizer 2? It's working well for me on Arch with Steam. You can find it here: https://www.modorganizer.org/. It should be compatible with GOG too!

Do you know for sure if it works with GOG? I'm on Mint as well.

I wouldn't advise against using a mod manager, it's way easier to manage your mods that way. Without one, it can get really confusing!

Vortex and similar tools are meant for convenience, but you can manually install mods if you prefer. Just download your favorite mods from Nexus Mods, extract them, and copy the necessary files directly into the '/data' folder of your Skyrim installation. Make sure to check for conflicts as some mods may need a specific load order. Just back up your '/data' folder first, so you can easily revert if something goes wrong.
