I'm working with an ASROCK RACK W880D4U motherboard, and the manual mentions three "ATX 12V Power Connectors" at the top. My power supply unit (PSU) has two CPU power connectors that fit, but I'm confused about the extra connector. I want to know what exactly an ATX 12V Power Connector is, if it's necessary to connect all three for the board to power on, and if there's any kind of adapter I could use. Also, are there any power supplies better suited for this setup?

This motherboard is designed for use in the AsRock Rack system, which comes with a compatible power supply. If you don't have that, they actually offer an ATX-12V adapter for the third connector. You'll need to connect all three to get it to power up. You might even try using two power supplies just to troubleshoot. By the way, how did you end up with this board without the rack? That seems risky!

Thanks for the advice! I’m not sure what ‘the rack’ refers to. I picked this board since it supports ArrowLake and DDR5 ECC in mATX form. I’ll definitely test it with a second PSU, hopefully everything goes smoothly!
