I recently discovered that my TV was exposed to water due to a leak from the rooftop during a storm, and now it won't turn on. I have a relatively new TCL Semp TV. When I noticed the leak, I unplugged the TV right away, but by then it seems water had already entered. When I tried turning it on later, the power light came on, but there was no image or sound. Moreover, even hours later, I noticed some water pooling beneath it. What steps should I take before considering taking it in for repairs? I'm feeling quite discouraged, as this TV was quite an investment for us.

First off, try letting it dry out for several days before attempting to turn it on again. Make sure to unplug it during this time. Once it's dry, plug it in and see if it powers up. If the light comes on, wait a minute and continuously press the volume up button. Let me know if you hear anything! Just to be safe, I'd suggest at least a week, maybe even two, for it to dry completely.
I recommend carefully taking down the TV and exposing the inside without touching anything. Point a fan toward it to speed up drying. Ideally, let it dry for at least a week, or even two. After that, check for any remaining moisture, and if it's completely dry, put it back together and cross your fingers!
We’re in the same boat, and it’s really stressful! But drying it out seems like the best route. I’m really hoping it works out well for you.

Good advice! The longer you can let it dry, the better. Water can cause a lot of internal issues if not dried out properly.
