How do I reclaim unallocated space on my boot drive in Windows 11 without spending money?

Hey everyone! I'm new here, and I'm looking for some advice. I have a boot drive that's around 1TB and currently set up with various partitions: a 50MB System Reserved partition, a 463.98GB C: drive, a 972MB Recovery partition, a 100MB EFI System Partition, and an unallocated section of about 465.75GB. I want to reclaim that second unallocated part and add it to my C: drive. I'm hoping to do this without shelling out cash for expensive software. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Just a heads up: If you're removing the recovery partition, make sure to back up important files in case anything goes wrong. You could remove the recovery partitions, then use a tool to shift the EFI partition and extend your C: drive afterward. Just be careful with those changes!

To tackle this, open the Windows Disk Management tool. You might be able to extend your C: drive there, but if there are other partitions in between, you'll need a third-party tool since Windows can't extend into non-adjacent unallocated space. I’d recommend MiniTool Partition Wizard Free or GParted for this task.

I think the simplest solution would be to create a new partition from the unallocated space. If you're tech-savvy, try moving the recovery partitions with a tool to free up space right next to C:, then you can expand it. It's a bit more complicated but doable!

If you just want the unallocated space as its own drive, you can format it to NTFS and assign a drive letter. But if you're set on merging it with C:, you'll need one of those tools to rearrange the partitions first.
